PONY CLASSES RULES AND REGULATIONS
BSPS
The Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society and is a qualifier for the following: -
● BSPS Championships
● BSPS Thor Atkinson Steel Fabrications Ltd Challenge
● BSPS Anthony Evans Insurance Champion of Champions
● BSPS Summer Championship Show
BSPS New Horizon Plastics Heritage Ridden
The Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society and is a qualifier for the New Horizon Plastics BSPS Heritage Ridden Championship Show at Arena UK.
1st, 2nd & 3rd prize winners from classes 42-45 will qualify for the semi-final (qualification will not pass down the line). Ponies, Owners & Riders must be BSPS Members to compete in classes 42-45.
BSPS London International Showing Series supported by Horse & Hound – LIHS 2026 17th – 21st December
The Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society (BSPS) and all persons entering, competing, showing, or otherwise taking part in BSPS classes, whether or not members of the BSPS, are subject to the Rules of the BSPS including the disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS.
The show is a qualifier for the London International Horse Show 2026. Only one pony in each of classes 4 to 9 and classes 52 to 56 will qualify. The highest placed (not already qualified) from the first three ponies in each class will qualify. Non-members of the BSPS have seven days to complete their registration and membership to keep the qualification. If not, this will pass to the next exhibitor.
The BSPS Performance Coloured Classes are open to mares, geldings and CHAPS(UK) or BSPA graded stallions, 4 years old or over to be registered in and complying with the showing requirements of the main body of the stud book of the Coloured Horse and Pony Society (CHAPS(UK)) or the British Skewbald and Piebald Association (BSPA). Ponies can be registered with either of these societies or BSPS, and owners and riders must be, or become, members of the BSPS within 7 days to take the qualification.
BSHA London International Showing Series supported by Horse & Hound – LIHS 2026 17th – 21st December
Competitors and horses must hold a minimum of LIHS Qualifier-Eligible Membership/Horse Registration with the Association to be eligible to compete in the LIHS BSHA Showing series.
Any competitor who qualifies for a LIHS Showing Series Supreme Final, must then complete full LIHS Qualified registration within 14 days of qualification for their qualification to stand, or it will pass to the next eligible exhibit (the nominal cost of Qualifier-Eligible membership will be taken off the cost of Full LIHS registration). Any competitors/ horses which have existing BSHA membership / registration for 2026 will not be required to complete any LIHS Membership / Registration for these classes.
BSHA LIHS RISING STAR CLASSES 2026

Classes 1, 2, 10, 12, 46, 48, 49, 50 and 51 qualify for LIHS BSHA Showing Series Supreme Finals at the London International Horse Show, highest placed unqualified in top five to qualify.
A results points table will run for all qualifying classes, and a ‘wild card’ will be awarded to those unqualified with the highest points in each section following the final qualifier.
The Judge will NOT ride exhibits in these classes or at the Finals.
Retraining of Racehorses (RoR)
The Show is affiliated to Retraining of Racehorses (RoR). Class 47 is a qualifier for The Jockey Club RoR National Championships at Aintree in August 2027.
The Showing Register
The Show is affiliated to The Showing Register (TSR) Amateur of the Year Final, taking place at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire on 28th and 29th November 2026. The two highest placed Amateurs not already qualified in each affiliated class (classes 57-68) will qualify.
Competitors do not need to be Members to qualify – TSR membership will be required to compete in the final.
