IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Blakesley Show – Exhibitor Information

To help ensure the safety and welfare of all exhibitors, competitors and livestock, the following measures will be in place at this year's Blakesley Show.

Equestrian – Ground Conditions

Due to the recent hot weather and prolonged dry conditions, the showground is experiencing exceptionally hard ground.

To help improve conditions, the Working Hunter Ring, Working Hunter Warm-Up Area and Gate Jumping Area will be watered before show day where necessary.

Whilst the Blakesley Show Committee has implemented these measures in the interests of horse and rider welfare, competitors must recognise that ground conditions can still vary. All horses and riders compete entirely at their own risk, and the Committee accepts no responsibility for any injury, loss or damage arising from the ground conditions.

Equestrian – Equine Influenza

The Blakesley Show Committee takes equine health and biosecurity seriously.

Random spot checks will be carried out during the day to verify that horses have the required Equine Influenza vaccinations.

All competitors must bring the horse's passport with them on show day – and checks will be carried out. Failure to produce a valid passport when requested may result in the horse being unable to compete.

We thank all competitors for their cooperation in helping to protect the health and wellbeing of all horses attending the Show.

Livestock – Sheep & Cattle

With high temperatures forecast on show day, the welfare of livestock remains our priority.

Exhibitors of Sheep and Cattle are permitted to leave the showground once all of their classes have been completed and they have finished exhibiting.

Exhibitors are strongly encouraged to bring an adequate supply of fresh drinking water for their animals. A water supply will also be available on the showground where required; however, exhibitors remain responsible for ensuring their animals are kept adequately hydrated throughout the day.

Please ensure livestock are monitored closely for signs of heat stress and that every reasonable step is taken to safeguard their welfare.
